Similarities:
Ruler and Subject

Confucius said, “The superior man understands righteousness; the inferior man understands profit.” (4:16) In the movie “Kung Fu Panda,” Master Shifu finds Tai lung as a cub and trains him how to do Kung fu. However the senior master of the Jade Palace, Oogway refuses to give him the dragon scroll which is said to hold the secret to limitless power. Tai lung gets enraged and tries to steal the scroll, but his attempt fails. This illustrates a good example of the superior master who teaches his student righteousness, but the inferior student desires profit.

Differences:
Older Friend and Younger Friend

Confucius said, "In education there should be no class distinction." (15:38) / From "Kung Fu Panda," when Po was chosen as the "dragon warrior," the Furious Five, who has been learning Kung Fu already for many years, ignored Po just because he never learned Kung Fu before. Confucius said that there should be no class distinction or any other discrimination in education. According to Confucius, there should be no discrimination in the movie as well. The Furious Five should either welcome Po or help him out. They should all get equal amount of education or the training. Thus, this film demonstrates the class distinction of older friend and younger friend clearly.
